They may not be sold as new cars anymore, but the Dodge Jailbreak models still carry the benefits that made them some of the most exciting and personalizable vehicles back when they could be custom-ordered. While our dealership, Frisco CDJR, was an approved Dodge Jailbreak dealership, we sadly can't order you one new anymore, as production has ceased. However, do read on – we've made the guide below as a retrospective that'll show you what to expect if you find a used Dodge Jailbreak muscle car.
The Dodge Jailbreak trim was introduced for the 2022 model year and, as mentioned, was more of a customization program than an actual trim.
However, any Jailbreak model will have "Jailbreak" in its new trim name. But wait, "its new trim name?" Yes, indeed; all Dodge Jailbreak trims started life as SRT Hellcat or SRT Hellcat Redeye models.
What sets them apart is the aforementioned customization program. For a normal Hellcat, you were limited to interior/exterior combinations, wheels, and other details that Dodge designers determined would be popular.
Rectifying that, Jailbreak is a reference to electronic devices, such as smartphones – "jailbreaking" a phone meant that you could bypass manufacturer restrictions and customize it as you please. The Dodge Jailbreak program was essentially the same thing for these Hellcat models.
Paint colors, interior colors, wheels, stripes, badges, and more could be fine-tuned exactly to the buyer's liking, and the Dodge factory would build it to those exact specifications. As a cherry on top, all SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak models received an upgraded power output of 807 horsepower.
There were four trims to consider as a starting point for the 2023 Challenger Jailbreak:
The Charger Jailbreak had the same trims but with one exception: it was only offered with the Widebody upgrade.
Keeping in mind that the core design is the same as on equivalent Hellcat models, here are some exciting and intriguing Challenger design possibilities unlocked by the Dodge Jailbreak program:
Yes, you could even ask the Dodge factory to remove the rear seats and deliver your Dodge Challenger as a lighter-weight two-seater.
Beyond that, further options included multiple seat insert designs, a satin-black hood, true old-school hood pins, red exterior badges, a chrome gas-filler door, multiple steering wheels to choose from, and more – even the floor mat edges could be customized with varying color options, including Demonic Red.
The Charger Jailbreak model's design options covered most of the same stuff seen in the Challenger but with a few variances. This includes:
Like the Challenger, the Dodge Charger also offered many more Jailbreak options, such as Brass Monkey exterior badges, a Navigation and Travel Group package, satin black accents like a painted hood, and more.

The four-door Dodge Charger Scat Pack is slightly slower than the Challenger. Reaching 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, it offers a neck-and-neck time when you consider its larger chassis and roomier interior styling.
The Dodge Jailbreak trim is a special edition Hellcat variant that celebrated the final two years of pre-2024 Charger and Challenger production, allowing buyers to custom order their muscle car with a bespoke design. For example, you could combine any Hellcat-trim interior with any color option. Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak models also received additional power upgrades, letting them make 807 horsepower.
The Dodge Jailbreak horsepower output is 717 if you select a "normal" SRT Hellcat trim (if you could call it that) as a basis, or 807 if you go for one of the SRT Hellcat Redeye versions. This applies to both the 2023 Challenger and 2023 Charger, as both models include the same engine and transmission in equivalent Jailbreak trims.
The Dodge Jailbreak top speed depends on the model. The Charger has a listed top speed of 196 mph when configured as the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak. Top speed figures are not what's important, though: how fast the car gets up to speed is what's fun, and with 0-60 mph times of 3.6 seconds possible in both the Charger and Challenger Jailbreak, thrills are epitomized.
